In The Garden...Thursday's Things In A Row...

I am joining Pat over at A View From The Edge for Thursday's Things In A Row.

Today we are visiting Tom and Nina's Garden and Mom and Dad's flower beds.  It's really making me want to start my little flower beds here at the camper!  Yes, I do put in flowers and a tomato plant and hummingbird feeders...LOVE my humming birds!!!!!

So, let's start at mom and dad's...
Hyacinths and grape hyacinths--you can see that the regular hyacinths have seen better days already...

The tulips are just beginning to bloom...

A row of redbuds are in bloom--I just LOVE those little trees!

Tom & Nina have grape hyacinths too...

And narcissus--They look so pretty together, don't you think?

See the lovely gently undulating bed there?  Soon, tulips will join the dance...

The rows of metal tubes make beautiful music hanging from the huge maple tree in the front yard...

The goldfish are lining up for some food--yep, I went sneaking over to the gazebo to throw them a snack and they were sure happy!  :)

Back over to mom and dad's house (located across the fish pond) to see the back yard tulips under the purple martin house...
And on the way home, I ran across this gnarly tree...isn't it interesting???

Hope you had a nice time in the garden with me today.  Spring is about a month ahead, so it is definitely appreciated!  Spring coming ahead of schedule where you are?  Have a wonderful day...

Don't forget to visit Pat for more Things In A Row...

  1. I sure did enjoy these photos! I love all the spring flowers - tulips, hyacinths, redbud trees, etc. AZ has flowers year-round, but not the flowers I grew up with!

  3. I enjoyed the tour. We are just getting over a snow storm. I was able to save my blooms on my fruit tress. By tarping them. Still waiting for flowers.

    1. I'm so glad you were able to save your fruit tree blooms! I just keep hoping we don't get a bad freeze here with all of the trees in bloom and starting to leaf out. Hope you get spring soon!

    1. They have two--a small one by a bench in the garden and then the big one that you saw in the picture. The fish are my great great great grandfish. We had a home in Iowa with a multi-level pond. When we sold the home, I brought my fish down to Tom and Nina for their pond (which they had just built) and the fish have been very happy in their new home. :)

    1. Thanks Jennifer. I can smell spring too--lots of sneezing, so it was time to bring out the neti pot...

  7. Beautiful spring flower shots! I love those tulips! They are probably my favorite flower of all! My parents had a wind chime, like the one in your photo, at one time.

  8. I love seeing the spring flowers popping up after winter and the redbuds are in full bloom here in Illinois. It's nice seeing all the color again!
Love your shots, and I really love your banner picture at the top.

    1. Thank you. The banner picture is my parents' camper and car that they took 3 little kids and my mom's mom across the US to Yellowstone and the painted desert in summer of 1963. I asked my dad if he was brave or crazy taking his wife, kids and mother-in-law to the desert in a 16 ft camper and car with NO A/C! He said he never did it again! LOL

You are not that far from us. We are about 45 miles east of Columbia MO on I-70. I am with you--the color and redbuds are so great! I am tracking the hummingbirds too. They are as far north as Arkansas now. Waiting for them to show up so I can feed them. :) Thanks for dropping by!

  12. Really liked this garden tour, Labbie. :) Thank you.

People around here aren't that keen on flower beds. Maybe we are all too old for all that work. Our neighbor across the street, she's older than we are, is a master gardener but there are very few flowers in her yard.

My fave is your red buds. We have a small one in our back yard. In the front we have three ornamental pear trees and a holly tree. A few purple irises are growing in the front bed along with a lily of the Nile clump. No green thumbs live here!

Thanks for peeking in on my row of doggy dishes and dogs.
