So, up the stairs...
This tree is on the landing as you go up to the second floor...
There are many nativities throughout and this is another one...
The first room is the craft/art room...
Another of the German feather trees gives inspiration for Christmas decorating...
Isn't this cloche filled with thread just adorable???
Now off to The hunter's bedroom...
You walk in and see this bobcat on the bed...
Doesn't the buck above the bed look cute with the greenery?
A black bear...
And this boar above the dresser...
I just LOVE the burlap around the bottom of the tree which is decorated with pheasant feathers, berries and antlers...
The end of the hallway upstairs...
This huge tree was on a turntable so that you can see the whole thing--as were most of the trees at the ends of the hallways.
The Irish Bedroom...
See the map of Ireland on the wall?
See all of the shamrocks, leprechauns and green ornaments?
The Patriotic Bedroom...They said that this room usually has a bed but it was taken out for the tour because it took up too much space for the tour. Each of the pictures and pieces of Military memorabilia came from people from the local parish and cover every American war or conflict...
A suit of armor--perfect for the military room door!
Thank you to all of our service men and women!
This one is special to Gman and me--it is the Wizard of Oz room...
See the mural on the wall to the right? We could never get a good shot of it due to the number of people, but so nicely done! You walk in on the yellow brick road painted on the floor...
This was in the closet...
The wicked witch...
Her hat was used as the tree topper. How cute is that???? All of the ornaments are the Wizard of Oz characters.
Now we are headed into the bar area.
This feather tree is just like Nina's, but her tree was white and located in the bathroom...
This is Bridgette--the priest's dog. Tonight she is sporting a pink velvet bow with a rhinestone.
The tree on the bar is decorated with wine corks, wine corkscrews and other wine related items. How apropos...
Doesn't this just sparkle???? So pretty!
On up the staircase to the attic. This is on the landing as we make the corner in the staircase...
Do you think Nina should use my mom's dressmaker's dummy and do it up like this next year in her house????
And now we enter the attic. Last year was the first year they allowed people up here. It is semi-finished...
The table just inside of the door...
The closet holds quite the doll collection!
Another of the feather trees...
Isn't this chandelier pretty? Just look at the huge crystal ornament hanging down from the bottom! I really LOVED that!!!! If you look to the right just past the chair you will see Bridgette's stocking...
A cozy sitting area...
The bedroom area has Santa and Mrs Claus taking a rest...
The desk and tree...
Isn't this carousel horse pretty? I think Tom should have one for his carnival collection...
As we get downstairs we see this beautiful nativity at the end of the hallway...
Back downstairs on the way out, we see the bathroom. The mirror is all ready for the season and the ornaments in the middle say "naughty" and "nice"...
And from the rectory we enter the church where the bell choir was practicing for their evening performance...
And with this, we exit the church...
The lighting at the ends of the tables is located in the hay mangers...
I love the way they hung wreaths on each of the harness pegs...
I had Schnitzel with Spätzle and potato pancakes. Yummy! Did I mention that I am German? Well at least part of this mutt (aka--ME) is German! LOL We came from the German part of Pennsylvania and enjoy a lot of German cuisine.
So, full of good German food and eyes still full of what we just saw, we piled into the van and headed back home...
Thanks for coming along!
