Thursday's Things In A Row...Flag Day

Hi Everyone!  Back from vacation.  Had a great time!  Saw a lot of friends and spent time with our son.  Enjoyed it a lot--of course, that's what vacations are for, right?

I'm joining Pat at A View From The Edge for her Thursday's Things In A Row.

Today is Flag Day, so in honor of Old Glory, the small town next door had her waving throughout as we were delivering meals-on-wheels.

Does YOUR town fly their flags on flag day?

For more great things in a row, go and visit Pat--better yet, join us!

  3. I don't think our town has any flags out today, except for the ones that were already flying at the schools and the post office. I'm not sure though: today was my last day of school so I basically just ran home and took a nap.

  4. Hi Lab One ~~ I like your things in a row. Multi wires up 'there' always impress me. They impress me as 'sky pollution.'

We put our flag out for yesterday and may keep it out for the whole weekend. Hard thing to do, though is to keep it lighted. Remembering, not the doing is hard.

    1. Glad you had a nice holiday and welcome back! We had a small 'in place' holiday last night and this morning as my sister from Iowa stopped in on the way to see her daughter.

We went to eat last night at Sam's Boat, a small seafood chain here. We sat outside on their lakeside patio. I had an oyster poboy. And yes, I took pictures for a future new 'Jim Bunch Eats' post.

    2. I totally understand the lack of remembering to light the flag at night! I find one of those solar spotlights works well for mine. :)

The town I was photographing is a very old Missouri town of about 1,000 people. The lines were put up before they buried them and retrofitting now would be cost prohibitive for the residents. I am just happy to have electricity, cable, phone and you know--all the goodies these poles bring. :)

Sounds like you guys had a nice holiday dinner together. How fun! Being with loved ones is always a great time!

  5. I don't recall seeing more flags out than usual on Flag Day around here. Usually on Memorial Day and the 4th of July they are waving proudly though!

  6. Stopping in to say hello. I love seeing small towns full of flags waving - something very old-fashioned about it.
